With a population of over 3000, Martham is an historical and traditional British village retaining its Norfolk charm. It is located 9 miles North of Great Yarmouth, 15 miles East of Norwich and 3 miles West of the beautiful unspoilt sand dunes of the North Sea. The Village lies partly in the Norfolk Broads National Park and one of its boundaries is the upper reaches of the Thurne river - a world famous fishing location.

The centre of Martham has a post office, a couple of pubs, a supermarket, a fish and chip shop, a Medical Centre, a pharmacy and a variety of other shops. Overall, the village has, amongst other things, over 30 businesses, two schools, a public library, a large playing field with a new all purpose young peoples playground, skate park and multi games arena.

It is a highly picturesque village, with many beautiful cottages and historic buildings. It is certainly well worth exploring the village itself during you stay at Gables Barn!

Whether you enjoy walking, birdwatching, sailing, fishing, motor cruising, cycling, canoeing or just strolling between fine country pubs, when staying at Gables Barn, the Broads are right on your doorstep!
